Creating a Portfolio

I've been working on adding more to my portfolio tab, from my last job at the CAEME center.  Who knew putting together so many images could take up so much time.  I worked on combining different images from separate lessons on the educational CD's I worked on and still there are a lot of images.  The image I'm the most proud of is for the antennas lesson. The room has hundreds of pyramid like shapes on the walls, floor, and even the ceiling.  It looked great when I finished it, I think the grad student that I prepared it for was happy with it too.
I showed some of the images to my son this afternoon and he was most impressed that I made images for a game that is also on the CD.  Go figure ;) and he wanted to know if I had a copy of the CD so he could play it.  I told him that if they were still using the CD's for classes at the U of U that they would probably have to be purchased from the book store.  He was a little bummed about that.
Hopefully the new images will add more of a "what I worked on in the field" feel to what I already have. I should be able to post the images in the next few days, because I want to add all of them at once.  As always please feel free to leave comments or questions. Thanks again, Kaylynn

Pinewood Derby

So, the Pinewood Derby is coming up for the cub scouts and I had to make up 3 posters to advertise when and where it would be. I thought Gee I'll look for some free clip art to use because I'm not making any money off the posters, but I couldn't find any that I really liked. Okay, I guess necessity really is the mother of invention after all, so I made my own pictures up instead, here they are hope you enjoy.  :)

Mother's Day Thoughts

I've been working on Mother's Day gifts today and been thinking how very blessed I am to have a wonderful and supportive mom.  She is a person I truly look up to even though I out grew her by an inch (sorry mom). My mom always said that dynamite comes in small packages. She has a great amount of compassion about people though and wants to make sure that they are doing okay.  I honestly don't know where I'd be with out her she is a rock for all of my siblings and myself even though some may not know it.  Thanks mom for always being there for all of us kids and I hope you enjoy your mother's day gifts tomorrow.

My mother in law also is a wonderful person she is always calling us to make sure we're okay and don't need any thing.  She take the kids sometimes and lets my husband, Gary and I have a little time to ourselves I can't tell her how much I appreciate that.  It is always a wonderful gift.  Then there's helping out with shopping for kids clothes and having picnics.  I know she worries sometimes but we love her all the same. I hope she also  has a wonderful and happy mothers day and she enjoys her gifts as well I couldn't ask for better example of what great mothers are.

Hey I'm starting to figure this blogging thing out.  I'm going to create a new page for my portfolio pictures,  I think.  Wish me luck (eek :) ) !

Update on this: I'm working on my portfolio and have scanned in most of it but need to adjust some of the colors, and the size of what I'm displaying, also I need to add some of the things I did while I was working at the CAEME center.  Hopefully I'll have it up sometime this week.

More pictures from some of my stories and one for one of my Good Reads friends Raven.
A picture I drew for a story (admittedly not one of my best) Lord of the storm.  The story definitely needs some tweaking.  A friend of mine described it as unemotional rather like a log more than a story.

I drew the spider then added the gradient in the back ground, Absolutely crazy and possibly cathartic writing about spiders.  I shouldn't know so much about them but I did do an amount of reading up to make sure that the characteristics of the arachnids were correct. I kept this picture by my bed for a while and every so often had to do a double take as it sat under the bedside lamp. I really don't like spiders. They creep me out, so I would say in some ways I actually really identify with the character of Janeesa in the story more than Annette.

This picture was drawn in response to a story I read on Goodreads by Raven, called Elf Hunter.  I wish that she had finished it.  A good amount of the story is about prejudice and very well written in my opinion.  This character is supposed to be Faye Goldenclaw.  Raven liked it enough to use it.

Another picture for Lord of the Storm of a young Elana and Kalysia her mother.
